After deciding to sell our house, the question arose as to which real estate agent we wanted to go through this process with. Fortunately, my niece had just bought a house and during all the viewings she saw several agents at work. Tom van Houtem from Dichtbij Vastgoed stood out above the others in her opinion. As a buyer, she found him knowledgeable, involved, easily reachable for questions (also after the viewing via phone and email), and his enthusiasm and expertise were highly appreciated. This was exactly what we were looking for in a selling agent. We eventually sat down with three selling agents, and Tom stood out above the rest for us as well. And he delivered! Two weeks after our conversation, our house was already listed on Funda, and not long after that it was sold. He was always there for us but also takes every potential buyer seriously and gives them all the time they need. After we accepted an offer, he introduced us to the buyers, turning this not only into a real estate transaction but also into a connection between people. This felt like a warm bath for us. We would have gone through this process with no one else but Tom, an enthusiastic people person rather than a suit-and-tie agent. All praise goes to Tom from Dichtbij Vastgoed!

Contact was made through acquaintances. Initially, the communication went very well. The real estate agent acted quickly, was eager to help and highly accessible. However, it turned out that this house was beyond our reach in this segment, and unfortunately, there wasn't really a strategy behind the entire sales process. We were regularly asked to come up with a plan/strategy, which I found disappointing since we had just hired an agent for this reason. As a result, the process felt poorly thought through and sometimes even frustrating. We did have several viewings, but unfortunately they led nowhere due to various reasons. Ultimately, we chose a combined sale together with Damen and Michel, resulting in the house being sold quickly. For selling a home in this segment, I would therefore not directly recommend Dichtbij, as we feel that experience and strategy are lacking.

Unfortunately, the first buyers wanted to back out. That was just bad luck. After that, Dichtbij Vastgoed (Tom) handled it quickly and professionally. The viewings could fortunately be planned soon after. Tom worked very hard to make the second purchase successful. And it succeeded! The key handover will take place in mid-October. The new buyers found the viewing very pleasant. Tom took his time and told them a lot about the house. Thank you for the guidance and efforts!
