We had planned to buy a nice little farm in Elim from an old family doctor. Nice place, friendly people etc. This was however over 12 years ago. Schelhaas came with the papers for signing and quickly flipped through the pages for a signature. Probably hoping I wouldn't read anything. However, I saw something on one of the documents about soil testing results that should have been in an attachment. "Sir, these are all standard documents". When someone says this, you should be extra careful. The attachment was conveniently not there and I signed with a note that there shouldn't be any weird things in it. The attachment arrived a day later and indeed contained something worrying. Namely that soil testing showed heavy metals in the ground. The farm was adjacent to an area filled with construction waste from the 60s, which had been covered up. This attempt at deception keeps popping into my mind every time I see the name Schelhaas. Had I trusted blue eyes and not done proper soil remediation, I would have incurred a hefty damage claim. Every time I see the name Schelhaas, I remember this. Maybe the company has improved since then but I will NEVER do business with them
