With the help of Robert and Niels, we have secured two apartments in Leiden. Considering the current housing market, that's not nothing. We are extremely grateful to Xpat Xperts!

This review comes after many years but seems very similar to other reviews. I was asked about 'administration costs', which later turned out not to be legal in the Netherlands. And I never got my full deposit back from the landlord, who took on the responsibility of the real estate agent without informing me at all. They knew that I would leave the country, so I was, like many others (see reviews), the perfect victim. Not really helpful for expats, quite the opposite. You could say that I am an expert in fooling expats :)

It was the rental agency that found accommodation for me in Leiden. I really recommend them, they were very nice to me!

Correct communication through their website as well as by phone, with punctual appointments, both at the start of renting and at the end of the lease agreement and handover. However, Xpat Xpert only defends the interests of the landlord (landlord). Despite a perfectly cleaned apartment upon handover, confirmed by photos and a signed handover statement (signed by an employee of Xpat Xpert), part of the deposit was withheld. Xpat Xpert has not responded further in this matter. Complete radio silence despite repeated requests for clarification regarding the reason for this, as well as their support for the tenant, given the signed handover statement. Still a disappointing end to the rental agreement!

A while ago, I was invited for a viewing. For this, I traveled to Leiden, sent all my documentation, and kindly responded. Unfortunately, I have not heard anything since then. I repeatedly tried to get in touch, both by email and phone, but never received a response. I find this very unsocial behavior; I put effort, time, and money into the process only to hear nothing!

I feel very reassured because if I have a problem with the house that I rent, I can call the team and they either help me immediately or advise what I should do. This is very important as an expat.

Everything went smoothly, except for settling the payment for an apartment, where the agency acting as intermediary could not explain why I did not receive the full deposit back. To prevent my problem, make sure you have a signed and agreed document during the final inspection of the apartment detailing what needs to be repaired/cleaned before handing over the keys.

Xpat has been renting out my apartment for years. Despite the fact that tenant changes are not very frequent, I am very satisfied with the service.
