We purchased the problem-free property at Dorpsstraat 19 in Gees, according to real estate agent Stadman Oosterhesselen, subject to a structural inspection. During the inspection, various defects, neglected maintenance, and undisclosed leaks were discovered. The repair costs are approximately €22,000. We proposed sharing this amount with the seller through the agent. Response from Stadman: No way, unless we would exempt the sellers from all future defects that may occur at the property. We saw this as a blank check and subsequently dissolved the purchase agreement. Tip for homebuyers from Stadman: Don't fall for it. Hire an independent structural engineer and do not have an inspection carried out by a contractor recommended by Stadman in the neighborhood.
