Very bad real estate agent. For months we were kept on a string, which turned out to be to stimulate the sale of the agent's daughter. We wanted to lower the price but were advised not to do so and to wait. It later became clear that the agent was dealing with a potential buyer for his daughter in the same block (not a Remax customer). Her house was secretly sold to someone who had responded to our advertisement. No good experiences with agents Ivo and Bert, where it turned out there were multiple complaints of the same nature against Ivo. After filing a complaint about this with owner Bert van der Krogt, our property was used as bait for other viewings in the same block. By coincidence, the selling agent was the Remax owner himself. It turns out not to be one tight-knit team that fights for the sellers but each for themselves. A viewing in the same block is never referred to an internal competitor unless the commission goes to the same agent. This model is not explained. We requested open house routes, but these were dodged with excuses (colleague on vacation/part-time work etc). During a viewing, a potential buyer is already steered towards one specific seller. Nice if you're thus at the right agent within the office. Unfortunately, we did not have that luck. In addition to this regrettable way of operating, mistakes on Funda, delays, no market data available during the process, poor communication. A lot had to be done and figured out ourselves. And three times the house was not closed after a viewing. Only when we eventually switched to an NVM affiliated agent did we receive a wonderful clear portfolio, sales statistics, strategy, and good advice. We then received an email threat afterwards that selling to relatives of the Remax office would lead to a commission debt to them. Hard to swallow if your house is not sold because an agent uses your means for his own daughter. The keys had to be picked up ourselves and the knocked-over plant in the property they left as angry thanks. A Remax agent is no NVM agent, that's our experience. Never thought of it but it really makes a difference. The commission is very favorable but you might as well do real estate land yourself. You can already see this from the fact that for a small fee, a Remax diploma to become an agent is obtained instead of undergoing a longer training and investment to become an NVM agent. In a market where there is little supply, I think this works fine. But the difference becomes painfully clear in a market where there are more choices. For us NEVER again Remax. And certainly not the office in Leidschendam.
