My son has lived happily in a room through PMA Real Estate for more than two years. The apartment was clean and the communication, although sometimes slow, eventually resolved any issues reported. Therefore, his living experience overall was positive. However, the handling of the lease termination deserves attention and is important information for future tenants, especially students who jointly rent a property. My son formally and correctly terminated his lease, handed over the apartment without defects after an end inspection where no damage or deficiencies were noted. Despite this, PMA has yet to refund the paid share in the deposit (€750) with the reason that another tenant still resides in the apartment. Despite several polite and legally justified requests, there was no constructive response. The fact that I had to deal with different contact persons each time - sometimes Kees, then Tjeerd - did not contribute to clarity or responsibility. The last email I received literally stated: 'I understand you want things your way and think it's right, but in the real world this works differently.' A very unprofessional tone that does not fit a rental organization, especially when dealing with students and parents who wish to conclude matters correctly. Therefore, be careful if you take up residence through PMA with multiple tenants: the contract is shared, but the deposit is not accounted for per person. This can cost you dearly upon departure - even if you have formally terminated your lease, handed over the apartment in good condition and paid your share. In our case, the deposit was also split between two people, but upon moving out this suddenly no longer applies. Hopefully this feedback will lead to improvements in communication and handling in the future. Meanwhile, three weeks have passed since the other occupant left the property as well. But we still haven't received our deposit back. Emails are not answered. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Therefore, I am reducing my rating to 1 star.
